Complex Care
Complex care/High Intensity is a specialty of QHACS.
We provide a social support model when providing you with complex care.
Our support workers (Trained Nurses) have extensive training and are assessed before they are able to provide support to you.
No support is too complex for QHACS. Our supervising Clinical Nurse Consultant has experience working in Emergency, Critical Care, Intensive Care, maternity and delivery suite. Our Mental Health nurse has experience working in acute mental health, psychiatric emergency, prisons and the mines.
The benefit of having nurses available as support workers are continuously trained and improved, with skill sets to match your support requirements.
At all times a Registered Nurse will be available for our support staff to contact 24/7.
We are able to support clients that require:
- Tracheostomy and ventilation management
- Epilepsy and emergency midazolam administration
- Diabetes management and insulin administration
- PEG/PEJ and enteral management
- Catheter and urinary device management including changes
- Stoma management
- Medication management
- Injectables
- Wound care and pressure area management
- Schizophrenia
- Schizoaffective
- Bipolar Affective Disorder
- Drug and Alcohol management
- Personality disorders
- Challenging behaviour and behaviour support

Registered Nurses will be involved in evaluating the support needs to it meets the client’s wants, needs and goals. As per your choice and control.

Complex Support is available to provide specialised support to participants with disabilities who may have different challenges that affect their independence and autonomy.
Some of these issues could include significant physical health issues, mental health illness and more that require specialised support.
